Maintenance Schedule '04 GT 4.6 (Tune Up)

Sometimes, there's just no accounting for taste, you know? That poor 08... I'm just going to repaint the calipers satin black for- you guessed it- a more "stock" appearance. You'll notice the brakes are a little more stout on your 04 vs the 95 (I come from a 97 myself) because the newer one...

Maintenance Schedule '04 GT 4.6 (Tune Up)

For your viewing pleasure. Directions are for an '01 Bullitt but all 98-04 4.6 SOHC's are the same. http://www.bullittarchive.com/1009.htm

Maintenance Schedule '04 GT 4.6 (Tune Up)

You can do the throttle body on your own, one of two ways- take the intake tube off and, while holding the throttle open, hit the backside (sparingly) of the throttle blade with carb cleaner and clean with a rag. Or- take it off altogether. Plan A is a little easier, though. Fuel filter is...

Maintenance Schedule '04 GT 4.6 (Tune Up)

Only one I know for certain is the rear diff at 100K. Plugs (allegedly) 100K but I'm changing mine out anyway. I'm at 75K and have had mine since the end of October. Cooling system, I'd be on the safe side and get it done. Trans fluid is easy enough to do. Over at svtperformance, they seem...

Hurst w/chrome stick for 01.5-04 GT

Looking for a Hurst shifter for my 04 GT. Would look something like this: http://www.fordmuscleforums.com/members/145188-itlrun-album183-2004-mustang-mach-1-picture957-000-0100-0002-hurst-shifter-t-handle-retro-look.html Not interested in the black handle Comp Plus- only what is pictured...

quick vid of my '93 LX 0-100

Last time I was in one of these, it was a bolt-on car with 2.73's. Needless to say this looks a hell of a lot quicker than what I've been in. Love that whine.

Way to go man. You guys aren't too far from me (I am 5 minutes from Newburgh).

    Just bought my second GT

Brought it home last night because a) I couldn't wait and b) I wasn't about to take 84 back through CT in the snow. That road sucks enough on a sunny day, once you pass over the Taconic it gets really hilly and twisty. I forgot almost entirely the joy of dropping the hammer in Third merging...

How do you guys clean your interior?

Another trick is the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It works, only drawback is it tends to disintegrate with use. I've never had a stain on plastic that one of these couldn't take out.

    Just bought my second GT

Happy to say that after a year and a half of looking I finally settled on a Stang. 04 GT, 74K one-owner miles (65 year old man- CT title lists DOB), 5-speed, stock as a rock. It's a pretty basic GT with the "starfish" 17's, cloth, no Mach sound, but that's fine with me. I'm not a big "bells...

    my MPG is getting ridiculous..

96K- possible bad O2? Any chance you have a cat going out? CEL? Also make sure your MAF is cleaned. A $4 can of CRC mass-air cleaner (gray label) can get it done. Clean the throttle body. Throwing ideas out... I'm sure those wide tires are giving you more rolling resistance.

    V6 general info?

^^true. From what I'm seeing so far, not a whole lot of pony package cars around me. Plenty of regular V6's, most are not premium package, doesn't bother me anyway. The pony package cars I'm seeing are relatively close in price to regular cars but you know how it goes, guys put thousands of...

    V6 general info?

Sounds good. I'm hoping to test-drive a few in the near future, work is keeping me busy at the moment. Thanks for the input.

    V6 general info?

Got it. Overall how are the V6's without it, though? Will I worry for the life of the rocker panels in turns or does it stay reasonably flat?

    V6 general info?

The "get a V8" replies are not helping, guys. Just don't respond if that's all you have to say. I love MUSTANGS. Not just V6's, not just GT's, not just the tuner models, all of them. And without V6 sales, the others wouldn't exist in the first place. I want the 6 because it's cheaper to...

    V6 general info?

I'm considering buying an 06-07 Pony Package 5-speed, want to do research on common problems, maintenance, etc. Last Mustang was a 97 GT, not much quicker than a well-driven 4.0/5-spd. What should I look for in one of these? If/when I buy one, I'll look into mods then.

New member looking for a new Stang to play with.

Drove a 2000 V6 5-speed this weekend, took a drive down to Cranford, NJ to see the car. I was pleased with the V6, good low-end, would make a good commuter car for me for sure. What killed this one was the clutch (lots of TOB noise and the cable was hanging up) and the very lived-in interior...

    WTB 99/up V6 5-speed

Calling it off for now. Decided to get some debt squared away and go for a nicer, later-model GT early next year.

    Wtb '96-'01 gt

I figured it best to bump this thread, than to start a new one. My search is now narrowed down to 99/up V6 5-speed cars. Stock is good. Can spend up to $4500 or trade for my '03 Focus ZTS. Details of my Focus below. Ad reposted from focusfanatics.com, because you have to log in to see the...
