The only new part in the engine is the internals. everything else has been polished or powder coated. But you are right that year's of nothing will make it hard to clean. the simple green diluted is perfect for the caked on crap. Do just your valve covers and intake. electronics are not made to...

Here is mine all cleaned up.

I use the water, simple green and f21 method. Just use a light mist and use a leaf blower to dry off. It is a little dirty there. Water will not hurt anything unless you drill the electronics with a steady blast. The motor gets wet when it rains and you drive in the rain. Just use common sense.

It will fit an 06 but there will be a gap between the grill and hood. the gt500 hood has an arc in the center. the 06gt has a straight hood. It doesn't look bad. Do a Google image search for gt500 hood on gt. Glws, that hood is sweet.

The hydro tank is still getting set up. It is a 6' tank so large parts can be done. With all the moving and getting the shop in order, the tank got put on hold. Thanks Sean. Its coming along, just need to get it tuned and I will be done.

Removing the cats will set off the check engine light. you will need some mil eliminators. I would wait till you have saved some cash and then get a setup you can install yourself and remove if need be. You need cats to pass ny inspections.
