First upgrades, help! Please

Im looking to start my upgrades off with CAI. This is what im looking into what do you guys think?

BBK Mustang Cold Air Intake and 73mm Throttle Body Combo (11-13 V6) KIT11136 - Free Shipping!

vs

Airaid CAI and Bama Tuner (11-13 V6) 3015||450-265 - Free Shipping!

Its roughly the same price but im not sure which would be more beneficial. Cause either way I want to get a throttle body and a tuner... I think i might go for bbk cause its a package and airaid i dont think makes a throttle body but im sure the bbk would match a airaid.

what does everyone think?

I like the BBK that comes with the TB. But the only thing that I am concerned with is the "no tune required". That leads me to believe that there is no gains from it. Unless they are figuring the learning aspect of the computer will make all the changes.

I would do some research into the BBK and see why it doesnt need a tune.

I would definitely say to go BBK with the throttle body. Maybe even get the spacer. Getting a tuner and having it tuned is good to do regardless at some point in time. So, maybe if you got the CAI and throttle body and these are your first mods, you wont need a tune or anything at first, but once you go ahead and do other engine mods, it would be beneficial to get the tuner.

With the 2005+, and especially the 2011+ Stangs, your going to need a tune in order for most CAI's to work. Otherwise the ones that say no tune required, usually don't give you enough of a power gain to even be worth the money.

I havent found another throttle body for a 2012 v6. most parts are for GTs which is frustrating to say the least. What are my options for throttle bodies?

and i was wondering, are you able to use GT parts on a v6 or roush ect obviously some things will not match up but i wonder if others will no problem.

No, your parts gotta be for the V6 the V8 parts won't match and will flow to much air for your 6er. Just forget the tb man, go with a CAI/ tuner combo. You'll be much happier I promise you that. The one I posted is a great deal.

I meant in general like a v7 exhaust xpipe or w.e just an example. but its w.e really.

I always planned on getting the tuner but i was going to wait until I bought a 1 piece drive shaft so i could also take the governor off.

And i also want to get a axle back exhaust. I know there isnt much gain from that either.

None of the V8 parts will work. It'd take too much custom fabbing, and wouldn't be worth it. You can always have the tuner updated for every new mod. And I'm telling you you'll be happy with that combo. Get what you want, but that's the best bang for your buck upgrade to be honest. Then I'd do exhaust shortly after.

Lol. If you buy that tuner/CAI combo, then all you'll have to do is plug it in and download the new tune to your cars PCM. Brenspeed will take care of the tune for you to optimize your power. And they'll update your tune anytime you get new mods. They allow you to choose 3 octane levels. Usually 93 for a power tune, then like 91 and 89 or whatever you choose.

I also saw on the website 2011-13 V6 Mustang 3.7L ROUSH Cold Air Intake/Custom Tuner Package would the $100 be worth the difference?

Honestly the Throttle Body isn't going to gain you much if any HP maybe 1 or3 HP. The stock TB is well designed and flows enough CFMs to support the power you are going to make on the 3.7 with simple bolt-ons.

I would skip the JLT CAI, while it does look nice I personally see some issues with it. The intake shield doesn't fully surround the filter and appears to allow engine heat in from around the shock tower, where the Intake tube goes through the heat shield. I don't mean to knock Jay or his product because he does design and build some good stuff, but personally if it was me I would go with the Steeda or the Airaid, or Roush CAI.They all have completely sealed heat shields, they retain the factory Cold Air Draw tube along the bottom while it appears that the JLT CAI uses the shield to try and collect in coming air.

Yes, some GT parts will convert over to your V6 but it depends on what you are talking about. Obviously engine parts are not interchangeable but a lot of the suspension pieces are as well as axlebacks, differentials, wheels and most body parts except grills.

There is 1 thing I know for a fact about cars. There is no 1 good answer. I spent maybe 2,3 hours today googling and watching videos on the intake alone.
and than someone mentioned a TB Spacer, and that "apparently" adds 2-5 whp. It 'apparently' makes the air mix better by swirling it around. Some say it adds some low end torque, others say it only makes some sound.

Idk american muscle did a project v6, I might use parts they used. The end result was really good, but i cant help wondering if there were little things they could have done to get a little further.

Axlebacks require some fabbing. Not a direct fit from V8 to V6. American muscle is a good choice too, I personally found Brent's tunes to pull out more power capabilities than AM, but like you said its all preference. And Brenspeed never charged me for updates, so I think you might be mistaking them for someone else.

but putting in 3.73 kill gas mileage, dont they? sure it'll help you better utilize the power your car has, but it keeps the car in higher rpm's if im not mistaken.

dude i already have weeks planned on what parts im gonna get lolol and deff dont get me wrong, Im getting the CAI and tuner, I just really wanna explore every option cause I dont want to regret one option over another. or if i can get a different part to give myself a little gain. Im in love with my car and doing stuff to it haha
