I believe the a9s is the California version of the a9l but I'm not 100% sure. From what I have read, I see the a9s is for an AOD car not 5 speed. Don't hold me to it but irs just my findings. Good luck man!

You are correct on the A9S is a California version... What I can't seem to find is wether the A9S is for a manuel or a auto transmission. Would this cause a problem with the proformance of the car using a A9S ECU instead of the A9L ECU?

:confused: not even my car and I have a headache over it!

Let one of these other guys chime in about the ECU. Imma rookie.
I do know that any combo, especially a computer swap car combo would surely need a wideband and a chip tune I make it run correct. IMO
These other subscribers are seasoned vets so give it time.

I wish I could help you out man. I "believe" it is ok to run an auto computer in a manual or auto car, but you can't run a manual computer for an auto car. You said it only makes the noise when you are driving it and nothing when you rev it at idle right? I would have to say that it is drive train related then, hopefully some more people can help you out.

A A9L processor can be run in a AOD 5.0....the AOD would have to be manually shifted! :)

OP: was the spout pulled out when the car was timed?? ...Timing seems to high!

Ok... so he brought it to the garage to get the injectors cleaned.. mechanic tells him there is no compression in cylinder2. He said there's no way to tell why and tells him to replace or resurface the head. Can't he do a leak test to find out ?

detonation could have caused a head gasket to blow (or a piston to melt, let's hope that's not the case) if you do a leak down test it can help you determine where the engine is not sealed by listening to the air escaping

let's hope that the piston didn't melt. Lol looks like I picked the appropriate heading this post. I wish I could convince him into buy a crate motor..

Blown head gasket not the end of the world ... but make sure the car is timed correctly!
