The "Lesbian" is ready for 2011

[EHA Racing]

For those that don't know the "Lesbian" is my brother's '93 Calypso LX that was built at Vanstrom Performance. It's a stock bottom end 306 with a 100 shot and some other mods. It's a street/strip car that runs mid 10's at the track.
There were some minor upgrades this year. The car ran so well last year that we didn't even touch the engine or transmission this winter. Since the engine still has the stock crank and rods we can't make any more power with it so we figured it was time to put the car on a diet. Last year it was 3,250 with a driver so we tried to at least get the 150lbs extra weight out for the class he runs.
The stock front 4 lug brakes were replaced with Willwood street/strip brakes.
The rear bumper was removed and replaced with a Donathen Tubular.
The stock power seats were removed and replaced with Kirkey aluminum seats and Holcomb brackets.
The 31 spline 4 lug axles and Richmond spool were replaced with 35 spline Moser axles and spool and we went with the 5/8" studs just to do it.
The old Weld Drag lites were replaced by some Champion Speed Series SFI Forged wheels with a new pair of M/T 275/60/15 drag radials.

Just put the seats in. The others were 44 lbs a piece. Needed to get some weight out.

The switches up by the shifter are Ignition, Fuel Pump, Water Pump, Fan and a master battery cut-off just in case.

The switches behind the shifter are Purge, Nitrous Arm, Bottle Heater, Remote Bottle Opener.

The button on the shifter is for the Trans brake.

I know it's hard to believe but the car gets driven everywhere during the summer. It's registered, inspected and gets about 3K a year put on it. Still has power windows, locks, power hatch, rear defogger, Alpine CD player with full speaker system, power mirrors, power brakes, emergency brake etc. Just has a few drag mods like a full manual C4 with brake, spool, nitrous, anti-roll bar, and everything else to make it hook. Call it a Pro-street, drag car, street car....I don't care. The term is overrated anyways. LOL

Hey man, we were able to knock 120lbs or so out of it. There is plenty more weight to lose but we need to be at 3,100 for the class.
