This motor is not at all about peak numbers. What is missing in the results is what RPM that torque number came in on and how low in the RPM range a good % of the peak torque comes up in. The broad torque band is what makes these feel strong and quick right off the line.
By the way, probably some of you have seen it already but if you go to www.dragtimes.com there is a section in there on "dyno" where you can look up some results of some 335's in stock form, along with a lot of other cars.

and I must say, VERY IMPRESSIVE CAR, I DID NOT expect this type of response and performance, everything was just so smooth and responsive... the power was similar to the cobra, any time you touch the happy pedal this thing shoots out like a gorilla out of a cage, I have tons of respect for those twin turbo 335i, funny how I use to say it's just a 3 series but after my friend owning it, I look at it as a completely different car.
