Absolutely, makes it perform like a higher rated hp motor. Its by design as the twin turbos are setup in sequential fashion with a smaller turbo spooling and making power as low as 2000rpm and when it runs out of steam, the larger turbo takes over. The new 335 by the way has only a single turbo with a design that varies the turbine section geometry to make it act like a smaller turbo at low rpm's and then opens up to act like a larger one at the top end. A friend of mine had the tt and now the new single turbo. I've been meaning to ask him which is "better"
I forgot the new one was single! One of my friends drove a new 135i and said that it was much quicker than the #'s suggest. Even my old 325i feels stronger than it's rated power oddly.

I went over the weekend to see my friend who owns an a 335i with a little over 400rwhp that has beaten the new M3 and stock gt500s, it has meth in it also. He needed to go take a shower and tossed me the keys and told me to go have fun
and I must say, VERY IMPRESSIVE CAR, I DID NOT expect this type of response and performance, everything was just so smooth and responsive... the power was similar to the cobra, any time you touch the happy pedal this thing shoots out like a gorilla out of a cage, I have tons of respect for those twin turbo 335i, funny how I use to say it's just a 3 series but after my friend owning it, I look at it as a completely different car.
