Belt size question on the Eaton!

I'm getting ready to goto the dyno / tune at Mustang Magic mid-April...I'm currently running a BF 2.93" blower pulley on the Eaton, BUT I may as well get the tune with the 2.76" BF pulley that I have...

Question: Installed the 2.76" pulley last night (no problem), tried to put a 74" belt on, No can do!! :nono: ...put the 74.5" belt that I use with the 2.93" pulley and seemed to be ok (not too loose, & seemed OK...) ...just wondering what you guys use!

...the only thing I have extra is a 90mm Auxilary pulley (all other pulley's stock or stock size)...Chart on CobraBob site says 74" with 100mm auxilary pulley...

Were you tring to install it with the AUX pulley in place? If so take that off, then slide the belt then put the idler back on. The other trick I do not recommend but alot of guys do is to knock the stop off the tensioner so you can pull it a bit further to get a tighter belt on. You want the belt in the tigher range of the tensioner indicator or it will slip, not might slip but will slip!!

yes, tried to install with the AUX on! Also, my 74.5" belt is a Goodyear Gatorback....

Where's the "tight" range indicator on the tensioner? .........thanks!

There is a pointer on the tensioner and on the mounting bracket so to say for the tensioner there is a little weird shaped indicator that looks like it gets bigger. when you get a chance just look at it, it is obvious when your looking for it.

....found in on the tensioner pointer! ...I'll put the 2.76" pulley back on tomorroe and see where I'm at!

...about 1/2 with the 2.93" pulley! ******I'm good!! tried the 2.76" pulley back on last night, still about 1/2 on the pointer!!! ***********

Others on other web sites have used a 74.5" belt with my combo!

Where the pointer whith the larger belt? If it is in the middle or looser it will slip.

give it a shot and see but watch for the belt dust on the hood. I know my buddie has a 2.76 with a 2lb lower and he will see about 16psi for the first 5-7 hard pulls and then it drops to about 14psi and stays there for the rest of the belts life. His belt is tight too, real tight.
