Yup just cut a deal to get my hands on a used 8.8 with 331 gears but i wont be installing it just yet. Since i want some 373 gears and i am going to need the sct x3 to fix the speedo with the new gear setup

thats a good kit. 4.10's with the tuner will really help.

how many miles? if its more then 50k, might as well rebuild it as well. and don't forget the isntallation kit!

13k miles on it so i should skip the rebuild kit and buy just the installation kit ?

how much of a "deal" did you get? because a set of 4.10 gears for a 7.5" rear would have been $179. now your gonna have to pay for a swap on an 8.8, AND removal and reinstallation of an entire rear end. instead of just a gear swap on an 7.5. plus, you wouldnt have ever had to worry about making too much power for a 7.5

275 for the rear all the work is going to be done on my lift and the swap price for the gears is going to be done by a friend of mines, so i am set and my powertrain warranty runs out at 60k miles i already have 18k miles on the car. i might have something planned if you checked out the other thread you might know what it is

let me say again- my friend blew out a 7.5 TWICE with a 3.8/auto with dual exhaust, CAI, and a tuner. on all seasons.

but when doing gears in any rear end its just wrong to out the stock diff back in. is that what he did?
