I just got back, was out at Mustang Magic all day with Tommy and had several parts installed.

Spec 3+ clutch
Spec Aluminum flywheel
26 spline input shaft
Clutch quadrant and adjuster
IRS brace

My first impression of the spec 3+ clutch and flywheel so far..

Holy chatter... this thing chatters like a mofo, all 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th massive chatter... I went looking for expressways WITH traffic to contribute to breaking-in the clutch since I need it broken in by saturday, I tried taking off with only the clutch and no way... felt like the car's gonna break. Can't wait to have the clutch broken in so I can really judge it.. I noticed it's pretty stiff too, not as much as I expected.

Is this what everyone went through when first installing it?

mine dosent really chatter at all... I got it already in the car / broken in though...

Can you explain how the Clutch quadrant and adjuster work? This is my first manual Stang :)

I had a spec II in my old foxbody. It was just on or off. You could not ride the clutch by slipping it out. Every time the light turned green, people thought I wanted to race. lol:smash:
btw, from what I've been told, all 3's chatter. you just have to learn how to gas it and release. new technique.

Well, I wanted easy access to adjust my clutch engagement under the hood rather than the need of having crawling under the car, I like my clutch engagment really low and you can not use the stock quadrant with the adjuster. The quadrant also helps you engage gears better and prevent missing a gear, but some can really stiffen the pedal, I heard the MM quadrant is the closest to stock

Yeah, it is very different... I noticed it loves being revved while takin off other wise it chatters even more...

My leg muscle wanted me to just go home already lol

I just installed the Maximum motorsports clutch adjuster and quadrant in my dads car. It made the clutch so much easier to push down. It brought the fun back into driving.

Soon that will all be gone since we are going auto:D

Your problem Rami is simple, You need another mod for all of them to work properly.


It is cheap but really helps.


It is called THE DRIVER MOD:D. Sorry dude.

then queens blvd is where you wanna go. but you wanna go against the lights. head towards the city when everyone is coming out of it so you get caught at all the lights on the way in

I just had the Spec2+ clutch/flywheel/cable installed about a month ago and since I have put close to 300 miles on it. I know that the 2+ clutch has less grip than the 3+ but since the first day till now, it seems to have less and less chatter. I don't know if its my car or how its is but I have a lot of vibration in the drive train when engaging first gear. Hopefully that will get to be less and less also.

I'm gonna keep trying to break in the clutch every chance I get cause I want to get this period over with ASAP. Glad to hear the chatter is getting less and less, I DID notice it became a TINY bit easier after driving in traffic and ridin the clutch for a while.

Time will tell :awesomework:

You will get use to it. In my case the clutch pedal was way softer after the install than what was in there before because my clutch cable was shot and binding.

rami u'r gona have to get used to this clutch, its a whole other animal from the stock bitch. just keep driving it the chatter will decrease over time but not rite away

I should know, I had to change them both lmao^^^

Give it time and the chatter will work it self out, do not shock it and all will be well, break in time is about 500 street driving miles, but the longer you take it easy, the better it will turn out, good luck with it bro

Thanks for the advice guys, I'm just gonna have to be patient and keep driving in the city, gettin behind the wheel of this thing is so tempting but at this point, I'm just gonna do what it takes for it to be normal and have a good turn out
