ok so i put my new headlights in yesterday. looks great. started it up and put it back in the garage. when i started it this morning the Check Engine Light was on. I have no idea why. the car drove fine and sounded like there wasnt any problems
Just plug in your X3, Scroll down to vehicle info, then click check codes. It will read what is causing the CEL and give you a number, then we can see what caused it.
I could be wrong about the unplugging battery, but the cel was caused by the o2 sensors and to backtrack the only thing done was remove the front bumper and replace the headlights.
Now it may sound strange, but this can cause any number of issues, who knows.
wow putting lights in made a o2 sensor go off . You reset the computer by unhooking it but the code might come back. Plug your tuner in to get the code if it comes back.
