Started Suspension work! (UPDATE!)

This is something that I've been wanting to do for a while now. I will be installing Maximum Motorsports K-member, tubular A-arms, Front and rear coilovers, Full length subframe conectors, and panhard bar. Crazy thing that I'll be doing all of this on JACKSTANDS!! no lift available to me :thumbsdown:. Process might be a little slow since there are a lot things coming up (anniversary, holidays, etc) but I will keep you guys updated.

Today I started disassembling the front suspension. Removed shocks, springs, and K-member, Don't sound like a lot but it did take me a while specially since 3 bolts were just spinning :smash: and I had to cut their heads off to get the k member off the vehicle. What a bitch :mad:.

Anyways here are a few pics. As you can tell, I used my psychic power to hold the engine up while I removed the Kmember :tinfoil:

I am hoping to gain some room (by the bellhousing area) with the tubular kmember so that I can squeeze in a larger downpipe.

Nice waldo looking forward to your progress and updates.I'm also doing the mm k member and Arms on jack stands.Well technically not me Chris is lol

have not been able to do anything. Since I had to cut the heads off of 3 bolts I had to order a new set of kmember bolts which I did not receive until this past Saturday. Now that I got the bolts things should pick up a bit.

Fuck!!! Bolted up, lined up and squared up the k member perfectly, but when I lowered the engine the driver side header hits the engine mount bracket on the kmember. I will remove the header to modify the mount tab on the kmember. I don't think it is a huge deal, but a delay none than less.
No mod ever goes smooth for me :nono: :thumbsdown: :D

Good stuff man, I feel your pain with doing shit on jackstands. Pulled my motor and did the k-member drop/suspension removal on em!! Funny thing is, I had 3 of my K bolts do the same thing, and had to cut em out, what a PITA!

Damn man, progress has been very slow (damn cold weather!, LOL) well the cold weather and the fact that I going to have make a few changes to some of the stuff I already have, like re-route some ground and power wires (from relocated battery) to clear the panhard bar. I also want to re-route the fuel lines and one of the fuel filters. I also ordered some inner fender panels to improve the look of the engine bay a little and some other odds and ends.
They only thing I got done was installing the k-member I had to slightly modify the driver side mounting pad of the k-member and space the motor 3/8 of an inch to clear the driver side header and had to modify the kmember brace a little bit to clear the Canton oil pan (the modification was nothing big so don't be concerned, I know you want to put a MM k-member in as well). I also assambled the coilovers but have not put them in yet.
This was supposed to be a one-weekend-project, but like always things got a little complicated (this always happens to me, LOL! it's all good though, everything is under control)

damn i hear that Waldo.I'm actually holding off on the suspension,until i hit the track with the new set up..I might replace everything AGAIN in favor of drag suspension(insert smiley holding a gun to it's head here):screwy:

Back from the dead. Not much progress, but some.
Did a little something tonight after work. I got the k-member squared. modded and fitting nicely. Installed the front A-arms and about 80% of the power steering system (need to do cooling lines and install the cooler). Mocked up inner fender panels. Installed the power steering rack (from 03 Cobra), aluminum bushings and 40% of the bump steer kit.
Don't mind the dust and crazy maze of wires, It'll all be taken care of. There is still a ton of work left, but I plan on doing some more work during the weekend.
