Tires, need some opinions

Ok, I have a spool 8.8 rear with 3.73 gears and was looking at the tread on my previous tires and needless to say, I need some new ones :D

I have been looking around, and the tires I had on before were Goodyear P245/50ZR15 on American Racing 5 lug rims. I had a normal DD tire on before but now as the car transformed (and sucked the money right out of me!) It only sees sunny days and gets driven on the weekends. I don't plan on going to the track (maybe once or twice) with it, but I want a tire that has some nice traction to it (I could easily spin thru 3rd before my motor was redone, and now HP and TQ Doubled! I think I need something with better grip.

Does anyone out there have any preferences for a tire? (I heard the NittoR tires are pretty good, but I need something that won't spin me sideways on medium road conditions (like bits of sand and gravel, or maybe wet spots from a previous days rain).

Any feedback from people who have had a tire they really liked (or maybe had a friend with one they liked) I would love to hear from you before I make a decision on what to buy. Thanks!

drag radials are your best bet, dont recommend them in the rain tho lol. Nitto 555R are good and cheap, alot of people recommend mickey thompson ET streets. I would get 275/50s or 275/60s depending on preference. And the inner fender well will need some "light massaging" with a 275 lol. Some ppl get away with running a 275, the nittos run a little narrower

I have always used Nitto 555R for a street tire. The few times I did get stuck in rain I was ok but I slowed down to meet the road conditions. Driving on damp/wet roads with any tire is not safe with a lot of power. If you are doing ZERO wet weather driving the M/T, Hoosier, or M&H are much stickier. That size is awfully small, you should have a wider tired but it depends on the wheel size, backspacing, etc.

I have the C clip eliminator and 3 inch studs, but I don't know the width of the american racing rims. I don't know how wide I can go without risking too much (275 sounds like just a little too much, I just repainted the car and dont feel like rolling the fenders (the next thing will be a mini tub but thats a few years down the road). What width tire do you think will fit? It looks like the 245 is a little narrow for the rim but I'm no expert on wheels.

Its not so much I dont feel like rolling the fender I just dont think my rim is wide enough. Im not 100% sure the rim width
