Got the beast back up and running today and decided to hook the scanner up to it and see what it was all doing. I was not able to read live engine data like I can on other cars but I did get two codes.
KOEO code 24 with no description of what it is and a KOER code 12. "Cannot control RPM during self check or idle speed control problem". I assume the code 12 is some kind of IAC issue. No check engine light at this time. I also noticed the car was super guttless when I took it for a little test drive. Started perfect and idles nice and smooth but has no power under 2500 RPM's. I had set the timing at 10* at first but it is at 14* now and has picked up quite a bit of power but not what I thought it should have. I had only driven the car 6 miles before I had to take it apart and replace the intake gaskets. I'm not real sure it had any more power than this before I took it apart. Should a stock 5.0 with 160,000 miles on it break the tires loose from a dead stop? I only have 5.7L TPI motors to compare them too. A stock 5.7L will light up the tires from a dead stop with no use of the brakes.
