Well I went to install my 60# injectors today and I ran into some trouble.
I'm using my stock '96 rails (return style) on a PI intake. I had no issues with the stock 19# injectors when I did my full PI swap 3 yrs ago. The injectors fit fine.
The injectors I'm switching to are SD/Motoron 60#'ers. I noticed they are just about 1/8" shorter then the 19's. When I install the injectors and fuel rails I can still move the injectors up and down that 1/8". In other words, if I seat the injector all the way into the rail, then tighten the rail down, the injector is not fully seated into the intake. I can push the injector down about 1/8", which in turn causes it to not be fully seated in the rail. Understand what I'm trying to say?
This is all new to me so I don't know if this is normal or not. I'd rather ask dumb sounding questions on here before I email Kurgan's with my non informed questions.
Is there something on the injectors themselves that can be changed?
Did I get the wrong injectors?
I thought they'd be a direct swap from OEM. Any thoughts guys?
