Due to the availability of an extensive line-up of PS3™ system titles, the 120GB PS3™ system is not backwards compatible with PlayStation®2 titles, but does maintain backwards compatibility for some original PlayStation® titles.


This is from the spec page for the 120gb PS3, says the same thing for ths 250gb. Sounds like Sony wants to force you to buy the new games

why would u buy a system that you will have to fix ?

Didnt buy it It was a gift the weekend that it originally came...and ive got no complaints with the system at all. Some people like ps3..some like the xbox. Either way.....there will always be an argument on which system is better. To each their own.

i have the 80gb ps3... it was screwy when they came out.... had 40 60 80 and 120's. if it had a flip up cover with buttons, it played ps2 games :idk: should just make them all the same
