So...im looking into getting a CDC shaker hood scoop this upcoming fall but I am reading everywhere that I need to get a new hood if I do so. I have a 07GT w/ the factory hood scoop and from what I am reading the factory holes will not be covered by the trim of the new scoop. Anyone know how much smaller the Shaker intake is compared to the factory scoop? Instead of getting a new hood I was thinking about after making the cut filling the holes professionally and than putting down some matte black vinyls on the hood that are just as wide as the scoop. What do you guys think? Do you think it would work?

2005-8 SHAKER SYSTEM is now available. This Ram Air/Cold Air Package includes all the duct work to make it fully functional. The Shaker System includes an Engine dress up cover, Cast Aluminum Scoop and all the necessary hardware, instructions and templates. In addition CDC has engineered water management systems within the shaker ductwork. The CDC Shaker System uses the factory air box so Engine flashing is not necessary. The CDC Shaker System also comes standard with a High Flow/High Performance S&B Filter. The Shaker System will use your factory hood which has a factory stamping in the hood inner, which accommodates the shaker system installation process, while maintaining the integrity of the hood. We will post updates as they are available. PLEASE NOTE: CDC'S TRIM RING DOES NOT COVER THE FACTORY HOOD SCOOP HOLES (07 FACTORY HOOD SCOOP)

Ahhh haaaa..I just got off the phone with CDC and they said that the three holes from the scoop that are at the rear of the stock scoop will be about two inches away from the trim rim. He also said that a lot of people will just cut the hood...get the holes filled and than be ready to go
