Auto Meter Gauge Install!

Hey Guys,

Well as you know I am keeping the other thread updated with Supercharger install info. However, I am running into a bit of a problem.

I ordered an Auto Meter Sport Comp boost gauge (Mechanical), Oil Pressure (Electrical), and Water Temp (Electrical). I also ordered the gauge pod that sits in the middle of the dash. Now from looking at the website, I can see what is included with each gauge to do the job... However, How the heck do I install them!!!????

I have never done gauges before so I don't understand how to connect them into the systems that I want to monitor... not sure if anyone can help me out here- I pick em up tomorrow!

Let me tell you The center mount Dash is a bitch... I could barely get one of the Air/Fuel Gauges up through the vents let alone any thicker wire with the O2 sensor.... I had to tuck that wire along the trim and all... Looks good for the most part but if you dont get the wires to sit perfectly flush the pod will lif on the side or sides...
Lastly since I cannot be as much help now as normally, "do not wire into your radio" You will gett a annoying buzzing and ticking and it will no shut the gauge off when you turn the car off... You have to either wire them all to a switch then the 12v power lighter... Or find a fuse box and test around to see what slots turn off and on with the car... Or even a window switch...
I am not going to lie I made a mistake and I am going to be doing a bunch of rewiring...
Center Mount = Pain in the ass...
I went through the first dash vent down to the right (in the defroster) dropped out the glove box...
From the dropped out glove box I reached up into the defroster were you can see some foam that lets you into the defroster and pulled out the wire...
From there there is a large gromet that takes your cars wiring harness into the engine bay and pops it out under and behind the battery tray mount...


You find a easier way let me know...

Do you know have to take you dash apart....
Two screws under arm rest where your elbow rests..
Pull up you center console over E-Brake and shifter...
Pull the 2 panels on the side of the radio straight off they just clip..
Remove all screws 8 in all I believe...
Then tilt the panel foward and un plug you hazard switch, 12v Lighter, and one other. They all line across the top..
Then there are two large plugs on the bottom corners, one controlls AC and lighting the other cotrolls the switches...
Unplug those then procede..
Once that panel is out you have 4 screws for your deck..
Unscrew those then tilt forward and unplug the radio, and 2-3 other plugs.
Now for your glove box... There are 8 screws along the bottom take those out then open the box abd press the edges in....

Well, I got the Gauges installed and wired... However, how do I tap into the oil pressure? I have ran the wire and tested all the other gauges but held off on the engine pressure gauge with the wire tied up in the engine compartment until I figure it out...

Any ideas? I don't want to get a check gauges light or take the factory sensor off??

...Get a "Y" coming off the sending unit....
