AOD Swap Question - Bizarro World

Hey Guys,
Twenty years of motorycle riding, a junior expert race license and a multitude of 2 wheeled track and street crashes is making my Stang experience painful at times. I have a 5 Speed 90 notchback and yes, I am actually thinking of swapping to an Auto. (Bizarre) I didn't think that missing most of left knee-cap would make much a difference with a stick car, but I probably didn't think it thru all the way. LOL...
Anyways, I've been doing some research on going the Auto route and based upon all the street driving, I think I definitely need OD. I've always been a stick guy, with little knowledge of the AOD's. I've been hearing Lentech is the way to go. Anyone go thru someting similar?

I'm making the swap over to aod in my coupe.... Freddy Brown in Li is doing my tranny http://www.fbperformance.com/default.asp. Aod is the best way to go, I wanted a c4 but really don't wanna loose the streetability. You can put some serious power thru them. I've had autos in the past, and looking foward to a manual valve body again. Best Of luck:rock:

I had an AOD in my T-Bird SC and i was not so happy with it, 300ft lb of torque was more than it could handle BUT that was with Ford internals, im sure these after market guys will make an AOD A.O.K.

I did the t5 to tko600 to AOD swap and I am glad I did. Make sure you go with a manual valve body though. Tyree @ Early's Transmissions (Elmont, NY on Merrick Rd) can custom build you any auto tranny from mild to wild. He's a little slow cause he's backed up (being busy is a good thing.....you know he's good if he's got lots of work coming through the door). He came highly recomended and he built me a really stout piece. :awesomework:

Tyree is the man hes done a few trannies for me and a few of my friends. Give him a call 516 378 9305. And hes on merrick rd in Oceanside,ny not Elmont

Actually we're both wrong.....he's in Baldwin (but it's LI so who really cares anyway). :D

A couple of questions-
Do I need to change the car's computer coming from a 5sp to AOD?
Also, how does OD work with a manual valve body? I'm "Auto - Unaware" so not sure how this will all work.
