About Codes..

If the check engine light isn't on does the mean that there are no codes in the system. And if there is codes stored in the car is there any way to access these codes without a scan tool.

even tho the light isnt on dont mean there is no codes .there is a few that wont trip a light but set codes .yes you can get them with a scanner although some may not show up on a generic scanner ya may need a powerfull one like a snap on modis or scanners at that level .

its not a bad thing to have ,but there is more to a code than just reading it and so as im sure ya know .

most advance auto stores will allow you to use theirs for free (you leave yor drivers license at the counter)
