Car and Driver has released new images of what they say is “almost definitely” the 2015 Ford Mustang along with new details about the next generation pony car. The magazine, who posted the materials yesterday, claims that the photos are leaked, but the photos are undoubtedly very accurate renderings likely created from CAD files as they show the car in a 360 degree view. The images* are very similar to the rendering we posted last month, but admittedly much more polished.
The magazine also goes in depth about the 2015 Mustang, although many of the information has been out for some time now including details on the powertrain options, suspension updates and interior styling. One interesting bit of potential news, though, is that Car and Driver is reporting that the Shelby GT500 will live on through the new generation with the supercharged 5.8-liter V8, eventually moving way for a Shelby GT350 model powered by an EcoBoost V8. Other sources have indicated that 2014 will be the last year for the GT500, but we’d love to see the model live on for a couple more years.
