i had the same problem first year when i parked it for winter. i had to put new battery in because old one was so bad it wouldn't even take a charge. i later found out that the amps were drawing power. manually shut them off guys and no one has to drive through any windows.

you can use spacers and mount them, but the tires will stick out too much and look ugly.
