Yes, reflashing is easy. It just plugs in under the dash and you follow the instructions on the tuner. First it will download the stock tune and then it will upload whichever of the 3 tunes you choose.

87 octane is fine for the stock tune. I'm not sure what other type of tuner you are talking about as I am only aware of the handheld tuners. SCT X3 or Diablo do basicly the same thing. They will hold 3 tunes plus your stock tune. I return my car to the stock tune before bringing it to...

I have BBK with Brenspeed 93 tune. The reason I got the BBK was because I can return the car to stock tune without removing it. C&L racer or JLT provide the most HP gains from what I have heard but you cannot run them with the stock tune. Either way, you'll want to run a 91 or even a 93 octane...
