NYstangTed, you also started with a 4.0 and missed the supporting upgrades. 'sell it and buy a GT' wasnt the advice he was looking for.
Bot- Whats your pricerange? theres some low-buck options- pull the air silencer, GT rear swaybar. the 3.8s respond very well to boost, and I know of a couple good S/C kits for sale at the moment.
GTNT83K&N air filter and a larger exhaust pipe with a free flowing muffler. more air in and out first easy fix. Then add a fuel pressure regulator and heaver pressure injectors.
BotThanks NYstang! Yea Ted if I could afford a GT I would have had one. I was blessed with this v6 mustang from a family member who did not have space for it anymore so I jumped on it. From a 93 corolla le to a 2000 Mustang v6 Im happy. NYStang My pricerange at the moment is $1200..... sad amount but Its a work in progress so little by little I will add on new upgrades....What would be your first low-buck option to do?
onlycoderedThe 99-04 V6 has a 7.5-inch rear end whereas the GT is 8.8-inch. Only in the year 2011 and up did they upgrade the V6 to the 8.8-inch rear end. You have to make sure the gears are for a 7.5-inch in your instance.
